Our Mission to Make Healing Accessible

Providing compassionate, culturally inclusive mental health care to children, adolescents, and families in the South Bay/Long Beach area.

Our Story

New Wave Youth and Family Therapy Services was founded in 2021 with a vision to expand access to quality mental health care for underserved communities in the Long Beach area. What began as a private practice has grown into a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing financial barriers to therapy.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we combine evidence-based therapies with compassionate, culturally inclusive care to make healing accessible for all. With both in-person and telehealth services, we're building a healthier, more resilient community—one individual and family at a time.

Dunja Ronsberger

Professional Clinical Counselor in Practicum

Welcome! I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where you can feel truly heard and understood. I welcome people from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, major life changes, or stress.

I have a special interest in supporting people with anxiety and depression, as well as those who identify as highly sensitive (HSPs) and may feel overwhelmed in today’s fast-paced world. I also enjoy working with immigrants navigating cultural transitions. As an immigrant myself, I understand the challenges of building a life between cultures.

My background in Buddhist psychology, mindfulness, and meditation shapes the heart of my approach. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered counseling, and CBT tools. Together, we’ll explore what works best for you as you move toward greater clarity, balance, and self-compassion.

Life’s challenges—whether anxiety, grief, or relationship struggles—can feel especially heavy when layered with cultural identity, family expectations, or the search for belonging. I understand how complex these experiences can be. You might feel stuck in people-pleasing, weighed down by self-doubt, or unsure how to move forward. At the same time, you may be longing for balance, stronger connections, or clarity in who you are. Therapy offers space to be heard, understood, and supported as you build resilience and move toward the life you want.

I offer a warm, culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming space for self-exploration and growth. Using mindfulness, expressive tools like sand tray and meditative instruments, and goal-focused strategies, I support healing from grief, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and relationship struggles.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I provide a supportive space where you can feel heard and understood without judgment. Wherever you are in your journey, I will meet you there, and together we’ll work toward clarity, balance, and empowerment.

Briana Murray

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

I am currently accepting individuals, couples, and families, and also offer EMDR for clients I see. My clients are often navigating relationship issues, anxiety, struggling with self-esteem, and working through life stressors personally and professionally. They may be students, athletes, parents, professionals, etc who feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed—longing for better communication, stronger boundaries, and a deeper sense of self-worth. They’re seeking a therapist who is warm, affirming, and culturally responsive—someone who can help them break patterns, strengthen relationships, and move toward lasting, meaningful change.
